This town hall of Jouarre serves currently only for particular ceremonies, as the marriages. It is indeed in restoration, and should welcome the city services in 2001. This building remains one of the most interesting. It has been been achieved at the XVIIIth century, according to the plans of architect Saget of the Louvières, or of the Laurièreses, that participated extensively in a large number of constructions of castles in our region. At the origin, the building was integrated to the battle systems. It appears thus on a plan of the abbey created in 1780 by Duquesnel. The building was then on duty a body of the monastery, like a sentry, watching over those entering the abbey.
