In 1961, the association " Friends of the Arts and Traditions of the Brie " decide to found in Jouarre a museum presenting the history of the knowledge to make briards. This is how appeared, above the crypts mérovingiennes, in a former chapel of the XVIIème century, a collection of odds and ends, tonics in the XVIème, XVIIème, and XVIIIème century, and summarizing a big part of the traditions of our region. The visitor recovers the necessary tools thus to the manufacture of the cheese of Brie, those of the maréchalerie, of the meulerie or, in a room dedicated to the work of the earth, a very beautiful even functional plow today.
